I have been a teacher for Lamar Elementary since August of 2017. I teach math, reading, spelling, social studies and science in the self-contained classroom.
Lamar Elementary is my first teaching position. I took a job as a paraprofessional in the self-contained classroom in August of 2016. At the time, I was working towards a Master’s in School Counseling. I fell in love with the students and the classroom and quickly changed my field of study to a Master’s in Special Education.
My husband Jonathan and I were married in 2006. We have two wonderful children, Gabe and Bella, who attend Lamar School. We live on a farm and raise cattle. We also have a yellow lab, Roxie, and a cat, Sunny.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband, children and family. We love to hike, kayak, camp, fish, and hunt. When I have a few extra minutes of free time I like photography and reading. I absolutely LOVE to read, in fact, I have to set limits for myself or I could read 24/7. My motto is “Read like the ink from the book is oxygen and I am gasping for breath.”
